For applications like blogging it is great to have a website that is private for students to contribute to, even if others are reading the content. Wikis are a great way to do this. On a wiki site you can choose who can contribute to it and you can put on several different applications. You can either set up your wiki for an entire class and have students make their own page within the wiki, or students can even set up their very only wiki account and personalize however they please. There are a few good wiki websites out there that act as great resources for students and classrooms, here are a couple that I have researched and have liked the best.
